Black tea: the tea plant contains complex polyphenols such as epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) and other tannins. Why can black tea tint hair? Hair coloring occurs when phenols are oxidized to o-quinones and the substance combines with proteins in the hair structure. In black tea, the oxidation of the leaf is part of the preparation process and its infusion can actually deepen the dark hair color and gradually darken gray tones. Additionally, black tea brings other benefits to maintaining a healthy scalp: the caffeine content stimulates the hair follicle and promotes hair growth.
Chicory Root: Thanks to its high content of inulin, unroasted chicory root is a powerful humectant, which means it draws water from the environment into the skin, helping to keep it hydrated. In our conditioner, inulin makes hair shiny and strong.
Sage: In traditional medicine, it has been used to relieve pain, protect the body from oxidative stress and free radical damage. For a long time, sage has been used to naturally darken hair and hide gray tones. Sage has pigments that will naturally color your gray hair and make it darker. The science behind sage coloring and your hair suggests that it provides the natural tannins in the infusion that change the color.
Rosemary: Rosmarinic acid has interesting biological activities, such as antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. The ursolic acid contributes to increase blood flow to the scalp. When more oxygen and nutrients will be sent right to your hair follicles, and that in turn promotes healthy hair growth.More on Phytochemicals
Feeling like freshening up your look - perhaps with a new hair colour? It often happens that we want a change of look, but not something as definitive as a hair dye. For this, we have developed a formula that not only gradually darkens hair without chemicals, but also uses all the properties of plants to nourish it, give it shine and stimulate healthy growth.
Because it is natural and the hair colour tones gradually, you decide when you have reached your desired shade without worrying that your hair is too darkly coloured.
Growing grey or white hair is a natural part of getting older. Many will embrace their natural grey colour, but many others want to delay its appearance or try to keep hair darker for longer. To better understand how our product works, here's a little primer on why hair eventually turns grey:
Every hair on our head is made up of two parts:
a shaft - the coloured part that we see growing out of our head. a root - the lower part that anchors the hair under the scalp.
The root of each hair strand is surrounded by a tube of tissue under the skin called a hair follicle. Each hair follicle contains a certain number of pigment cells.
These pigment cells constantly produce a chemical called melanin, which gives the growing hair its colour of brown, blonde or black.
The hair follicle is a tube of tissue under the skin called a hair follicle.
As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair no longer contains as much melanin and becomes a more transparent colour - like grey, silver or white - as it grows.
In our herbal blend, we have selected high quality ingredients that penetrate, nourish and stimulate the hair. Let's take a look at how it darkens hair:
Our tea conditioner is rich in tannin, a chemical compound that inhibits the production of the hormone DTH (dihydrotestosterone), which is the main culprit for greying hair.
